We love sustainable fashion!

The fashion industry represents an important part of our economies, and the fashion sector has gained amazing growth over the past decades. Clothing production has almost doubled between 2000 and 2014.

While the fashion sector is flourishing, there has been brought increasing attention to the range of negative environmental impacts that the fashion industry is responsible for. Fashion production makes up almost 10% of humanity’s carbon emissions, dries up water sources, and contaminate rivers and streams. Large percentage of all textiles go to the dump every year and washing some types of clothes sends serious amount of microplastics into the ocean.

Fast fashion does not only affect negative on the environment but has also a human cost: textile workers. Workers are often paid poorly and forced to work long hours in horrible conditions. In many countries, these conditions initiate infraction on human rights. Use of chemicals in clothing production also raise serious health concerns, both for the workers in the industry and consumers. Additional impacts on health also happen from the contamination.

The environmental and social cost of the fashion industry forces us to rethink fast fashion and stresses the need for more sustainable business and factory practices. VGUISH believes authenticity is the core of corporate social responsibility partnerships. We focus on sustainable fashion: saving natural resources and reducing pollution and waste – and make sure that our partners corporate in the same way as we do.

We make sure we do

1)Ethical fashion: We have carefully picked our factories and make sure we all corporate with same values and intensions about environmental and social responsibility.

2)Slow fashion: We love slow fashion. Our products are limited to 100 pieces of each item aiming to reduce consumption and production.

3)Sustainable fashion: We use eco-friendly post-mailers to lower their impact on the environment throughout their life cycle.

PACKING

Overuse of plastic and non-recyclable packaging has led to packaging in general being painted in a negative light by many consumers. 6.3 billion tons of plastics have been produced over the last 68 years and only an estimated 9% has been recycled. This huge amount of plastic invariably impacts the environment - both land and ocean, affecting each and every life form. Sustainable packaging will reduce our carbon footprint and lower our impact on the environment.

Our post-mailers are made by eco-friendly raw material and are organic. Together with our suppliers, we aim to eliminate white pollution and advocate green energy.
